Rescuers intervened to pump water from basin in Cioburciu village

Chisinau, 9 July /MOLDPRES/- Employees of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations / IGSU / have taken measures to pump water from a water basin in Cioburciu locality, Ștefan Vodă district, which risks flooding over 1000 ha of agricultural crops.

According to IGSU data, the water in the basin of the pumping station, which is close to agricultural crops, exceeded the limits and passed through the drainage channels, flooding a surface of land. To prevent major damage, rescuers intervened with three pumping stations and carried out water drainage works.

Thus, IGSU employees pumped over 317 thousand cubic meters, managing to lower the water level. On the spot, over 20 employees are involved in works to prevent the consequences of the risk situation.
