CIS observers unveil conclusions on snap parliamentary elections in Moldova

Chisinau, 12 July  /MOLDPRES/- Observation Mission of snap elections of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) today presented conclusions on the Moldovan legislative election and noted that it was conducted in accordance with the law and that the COVID-19 pandemic did not affect political pluralism.

Mission head Dmitry Kobitsky said that the group of experts followed the parliamentary elections from the opening of the polling stations to the counting of votes.

"The snap legislative elections were held in accordance with the law. For the voters on the left bank of the Dniester, the CEC decided to open 41 polling stations. On election day, international observers from the CIS Mission monitored 452 polling stations. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, the conditions for preventing and combating the virus were met, the polling stations were provided with protective masks. The elections went well. No violations were detected. Democratic standards and the law have been respected, "said Kobitsky.

According to preliminary data of CEC, after processing 2,149 (99.95%) reports from the 2,150 polling stations, 52.72% of voters voted for the Action and Solidarity Party, the Bloc of Communists and Socialists - 27.23% of the votes, and 5.75% opted for the Shor Party.
