Health authorities launched campaign to inform rural population about importance of vaccination

Chisinau, 4 August /MOLDPRES/- A campaign to inform the rural population about the importance of vaccination against COVID-19 was launched today by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection / MSMPS /, with the support of the World Bank.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Denis Cernelea also participated in the launch of the campaign, which took place in Hârbovăț village, Anenii Noi district.

"Carrying out a national assessment on the availability of the population to be vaccinated, we concluded that people need additional and truthful information directly from specialists. We notice that the phenomenon of false news is spreading on social networks and in the media. That is why we set out to carry out a communication campaign in which specialists are among the people, to talk to them directly, to convince them that vaccination is our only chance to get rid of the pandemic and to protect ourselves from serious forms. of the virus ", said Cernelea.

The campaign, Get vaccinated, so that life returns to normal! includes an important media component, in the form of video and audio promotional spots, in Romanian and Russian, which will be broadcast on local and national radio and television. Also, during the campaign, mobile teams of specialists in public health and communication will visit for several months localities from 24 districts of the Republic of Moldova, especially the villages where there is a low vaccination rate. The experts will travel from village to village, in a means of transport inscribed with the campaign insignia, called Health Bus, will discuss with citizens about the importance and benefits of vaccination.

At the same time, courses will be organized to strengthen the knowledge and skills of primary care workers in terms of communication with the population about vaccines, counseling techniques and promotion of vaccination.

The communication campaign is carried out within the World Bank project Emergency response to COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova.
