34 rescuers participate in field exercise in Ukraine

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/- On September 28-29, a number of 34 IGSU employees are participating in a field exercise taking place in Lvov, Ukraine.

According to IGSU, the applications take place within the EU-CHEM-REACT 2 project. They take place on a landfill near the town of Yavoriv, Lvov region, under the auspices of the Directorate-General for Civil Protection and European Humanitarian Operations jointly with the Ukrainian authorities.

During the exercise, Moldovan rescuers will take action to respond to crises related to the natural field, accidents involving toxic substances, but will also implement the assistance procedures of the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union.

The activities involve participants from Belarus, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
