Moldova's National Energy Regulatory Agency approves methodology of calculation, applying prices for oil products

Chisinau, 12 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Administrative Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today approved the methodology of calculation and applying the prices for oil products.    

The methodology regulates the way of calculation by the Agency of the maximal retail selling prices for the principal standard-type oil products, the way of calculation by ANRE of the specific commercial margin at the retail sale of the standard-type oil products, the way economic agents establish the process, proceeding from the maximal prices published by the Agency, etc. ‘’The mechanism applied at the calculation of the retail selling prices for the standard-type oil products (COR petrol and diesel) will ensure the protection of the legitimate interests of the consumers of oil products,’’ ANRE said,       

The methodology also sees specific regulations, according to which economic agents can sell by retail also other types of oil principal products, than the ones for which the maximal prices are established, only on condition of sale, at the same fuel supply station, also of the principal standard-type oil products, with the consumer being free to choose the product and compare the prices established by the regulator for the standard-type products, with the prices of other types of similar products.     

The document also includes the compulsoriness for economic agents to report to ANRE all retail selling prices which are to be applied on the next day/days. They are to be reported on each working day, for each fuel supply station, till 16:00, through an electronic platform elaborated and managed by ANRE,’’ according to the institution’s decision.  

Thus, ANRE commits to make available to economic agents the aforementioned platform and to give public access to the information on the address where each fuel supply station is placed and the prices set by them, including with possibility of sorting the data according to the criterion of the lowest price, placement (district, city/town) or according to the owner of the licence, thus giving the consumers a facile instrument for identifying and choosing the most advantageous provider of fuels in a certain zone.    

The Agency reserved three months at the most after the date of entrance into force of the today’s decision to come up with the functional technical solution for the aforementioned platform.
