As many as 1,370 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 5,874 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and1,370 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. Nine out of these cases are import ones. Thus, 317,899 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.
According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), 33 out of all infection cases are among medical employees (11 physicians, 17 medical assistants, 5 auxiliary staff employees).
As many as 2,552 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 235 are in extremely serious condition and 31 patients are connected to mechanical ventilation.
In the context, 8,979 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 16,213 are under supervision at home.
Another 1,219 people have been treated. As many as 297,796 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.
At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 32 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 7,273 people have died of coronavirus in all. The new-type coronavirus killed a physician cardiologist from the Balti-based Clinical Hospital.
