Farmers applied for subsidies worth 1.3 billion lei this year

Chisinau, 8 November /MOLDPRES/- The subsidies requested by agricultural producers for this year amount to 1.3 billion lei, 18% more than the previous year. The number of applications submitted increased by 1,030, with the territorial subdivisions of the Agency for Interventions and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) submitting 8,468 applications for financing for investments in various fields related to agriculture.
According to the preliminary data of AIPA, by categories, the most requested field for investments is the development of post-harvest and processing infrastructure, where the value of subsidies represents 369 million lei (667 applications). This sector is followed by investments in the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment - 333 million lei (2,673 applications), lending to agricultural producers - 157 million lei (2,772 applications), investments in the establishment / modernization of multi-year plantations - 159 million lei (882 applications) and animal husbandry - 95 million lei (291 applications).
"There is a growing trend in the required subsidies in insurance risks in agriculture, the value of which has increased fivefold. Thus, in 2021, 39 million lei were requested, compared to 7.6 million lei in 2020, and the number of applications increased from 82 to 432 ", indicates AIPA.
According to the Agency, the highest value of subsidies was requested by farmers in Briceni - 88 million lei, Edinet - 74 million lei, Hancesti - 64 million lei.
