Moldovan Technical University receives donation of books on behalf of USA

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Technical University of Moldova (UTM) has received a donation of books, provided within the bilateral partnership between the North Carolina State (USA) and Moldova. The donation includes books in English in sectors related to the engineering training at UTM.  

The consignment of books on 8 November was delivered by a delegation on behalf of the Embassy of the United States in Moldova, along with the International Center for Cooperation & Development Phoenix and Moldova World Children’s Fund.

„We are honoured and quite grateful for the generosity with which you make us happy again, with the most precious gift for an education institution – books. Especially as the donations on behalf of the American nation has been repeated for the third time already, which both honours and moves us. Certainly, our students will appreciate and will be happy, by finding again in the book consignment provided titles which approach know-how subjects of fields of interest of engineering,’’ Rector of the Technical University of Moldova Viorel Bostan said.    

For their part, the guests highlighted the important projects implemented at UTM with the support of the American nation - Tekwill, ZipHouse, FabLab, Circle laboratories of the Computers, Informatics and Microelectronics Faculty, which have become a visiting card of the institution. They also appreciated the work of the team of the UTM Library, ‘’which takes care that the students have access to as much literature as possible, to enrich their knowledge in different sectors.’’   

The information support provided through this book donation helps students to learn the specialty subject matter, as well as to study the technical terminology, which is indispensable for a qualified specialist. There are books from various education sectors: mathematics, physics, chemistry, ecology and earth science, architecture and design, constructions, food products’ technology, etc. This is the third book donation in a row provided to UTM by the American nation. The first two ones were made up of 240 book copies/55 titles and the current one – 140 book copies/68 titles.  The books will be distributed to the faculties’ libraries, according to the education profile.
