Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia speak out for advancement of European integration by Eastern Partnership Summit

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, on an official visit to Brussels, jointly with PMs of Georgia and Ukraine, have had a meeting with European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.       

The heads of government of the three states members of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) promoted and reconfirmed common messages, in order to give a new impetus to the political dialogue and sectoral and economic cooperation within the Joint Declaration of the Eastern Partnership Summit, due in Brussels in next mid-December. The participants in the meeting discussed practical aspects as regards the carrying out of the EU Economic and Investment Plan for the Eastern Partnership.         

„We are here to consider the way the political will and determination of three associated partners can be used, in order to improve the living of our citizens, through our countries’ rapprochement with EU. We want an efficient cooperation, especially in the sectors which matter for people most of all. We are talking about the removing of the roaming payments with EU, cutting the costs of the international banking transactions, recognition of the vaccination certificates and consolidation of the energy security,’’ Prime Minister Gavrilita said.      

Other important subjects on the discussion’s agenda regarded the energy sector and the energy security, connectivity and cooperation in the transport field, as well as aligning with the goals of the European Green Deal. The Moldovan PM expressed gratitude to EU for the openness and support proved on the period of the energy crisis, as well as for the support provided to implement the agenda of ambitious reforms of the government.
