Associated Trio members have dialogue with European Parliament President

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Aspects of the cooperation in the format Associated Trio were discussed at a meeting of Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and his counterparts from Georgia and Ukraine with European Parliament President David Sassoli in Brussels today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The PMs of the three states highlighted the importance of the EU Parliament’s support for the successful implementation of the European agendas assumed, as well as for the promotion of the Trio platform. In this respect, Natalia Gavrilita said that the partnership of the three states which implement the Association Agreement was based on concrete goals and EU remains the principal partner in their carrying out.    

Also, the three prime ministers noted that, due to the Eastern Partnership (EaP), the relation between the three countries had become closer and the dialogue with EU – more structured, which gives new possibilities for the political, economic and sectoral cooperation between the states. ‘’We are looking forward to the Eastern Partnership Summit and we are sure that it will be a successful Summit, oriented towards concrete results for benefit of our citizens,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.      

For his part, European Parliament President David Sassoli reiterated the EU’s willingness to further support Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia on the parliamentary dimension in the carrying out of the reforms established according to the European agendas.

Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita pays an official visit to Brussels on 29 November – 1 December.
