File on anabolics sent to court in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) today informed that it had finished the criminal prosecution and sent to court the criminal file on the accusation of the former Moldova’s ambassador to Russia and the driver of the vehicle of the diplomatic representation, where a large quantity of anabolics was found.   

According to the quoted source, PCCOCS prosecutors continue the criminal prosecution for establishing the other perpetrators and ordered the carrying out of parallel financial investigations.

The attempt of contraband was counteracted at the Palanca customs checkpoint in December 2020. The anabolics’ value was of more than 8.4 million lei. Besides anabolics, authorities also found psychotropic substances in the car.   

Under the law, the deed incriminated is punished with imprisonment from 3 to 10 years.
