Cooks, auxiliary staff of school canteens from Chisinau to receive extra salary

Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) has approved the providing of a position salary to the 486 cooks and auxiliary staff working at the canteens of the municipal education institutions.   

The municipal councilors today backed an initiative presented by the acting head of the education, youth and sport general department, Adrian Pavaloi, demanding the approval of material assistance in form of a position salary to the employees working in the canteens of the municipal education institutions. Thus, all those 486 cooks and auxiliary staff working in these canteens will receive an office salary each as material assistance.

According to Pavaloi, ‘’the salary of these categories of employees is low and the city hall has no legal powers to increase the salaries.’’ ‘’In the conditions of a poorly attractive salary and quite large volume of work, the school canteens face an insufficiency of personnel. We have covered 486 out of 585 staff units,’’ the official noted.

Data unveiled by municipal councilors shows that the average age of the auxiliary staff working in food blocks of the municipal education institutions is of 57 years. The hugest salary of these employees is of 3,096 lei and the lowest one - 2,322 lei.
