Ciocana's chief prosecutor to be investigated on five new charges

Chisinau, January 4 / MOLDPRES /- Acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings on 5 criminal cases, regarding the prosecutor, deputy prosecutor of the Chisinau Prosecutor's Office, head of the Ciocana Office, who is currently suspended from office.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, the criminal investigation was initiated on the basis of the suspicion of false statements by not including data in the declarations of assets and personal interests for 2018-2020, as well as the real estate owned by his concubine.

All 5 cases are still being investigated by anti-corruption prosecutors, being connected to the criminal case initiated against this prosecutor in November 2021, on illicit enrichment.
