Former Moldovan Railway head detained in Belgium

Chisinau, January 13 / MOLDPRES /- Former Moldovan Railway Chief Iurie Topala was reportedly detained by Interpol in Belgium yesterday.

According to prosecutors, the detention took place on January 12, following a request from the Chisinau authorities.

Iurie Topala left office in December 2019 and is suspected of large-scale fraud and embezzlement of foreign assets.

He was CFM head from 2015 to 2019.
