Moldovan museographer, philologist celebrates 70th birthday

Chisinau, Feb. 10 / MOLDPRES /- Philologist and museographer Nicolae Bulat, director of the Museum of the Soroca Fortress, holder of the Order of the Republic and of the Order Star of Romania in the rank of Officer celebrates today 70th anniversary.


Over the years he became one of the greatest connoisseurs of the history of Soroca, but also a promoter of the Romanian language and of the Romanian national ideals. He is considered one of the best guides in Moldova, nicknamed the "guardian" of the Soroca Fortress. He has special contributions in the development and systematization of museum collections, in the organization of permanent museum exhibitions.

He has actively participated in cultural and scientific activities, various educational and research programs, funded by the US State Department. With its involvement and contribution, the Museum of History and Ethnography, together with the District Council, won a restoration project of the medieval monument Soroca Fortress (2012).


For his special merits and prodigious activity he was highly appreciated with honorary titles and state distinctions, among which the Labor Glory Order (2013), the Order Star of Romania in the rank of Officer (2000), the gold medal at the Salon of Book EUROINVENT-2020 from Iasi (June 2020) for the book "In search of a great hero, General Stan Poetaș"; winner of the Award for promoting the history of the nation, TVR MOLDOVA Gala (2020).

Decorated by the President of Romania with the anniversary medal Centenary of the Great Union (2021). knight of the Order of the Republic (2021). For all his efforts to promote, as a great historian and writer, the Romanian spirit on both banks of the Prut, in 2019 he was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Buzau County, Romania.
