Moldova to be able to import vaccines shorter than half a year

Chisinau, Feb. 10 / MOLDPRES /- The specialized commission of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will be able to issue opinions on the introduction of COVID-19 vaccines in the country with a validity period of less than six months. A draft law has been adopted by parliament today.
Following changes in legislation today, vaccine imports will be facilitated. Thus, the Specialized Commission of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will be able to issue opinions on the introduction in the country of vaccines against COVID-19 with a shelf life of less than six months, provided that at the time of entry into the country not less than 50% of the declared amount.
Another project adopted today stipulates that the employees of the state medical system, who became infected with COVID-19 during the exercise of their duties, will also benefit this year from the single allowance amounting to 16 thousand lei.
The allowance will be granted to the employees of the National Agency for Public Health, involved in the diagnosis and epidemiological surveillance of COVID-19 cases and outbreaks; medical staff engaged and directly involved in the medical activities to combat COVID-19 infection in the medical institutions / subdivisions of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Defense, Labor and Social Protection, the National Administration of Penitentiaries and the Intelligence and Security Service.
The laws will enter into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova.
