North Development Region to benefit from 105 million lei for implementing 11 infrastructure projects in 2022

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - The North Development Region of Moldova in 2022 will benefit from 104.8 million lei for the implementation of 11 new regional development projects, included in the Single Development Programme (DUP) for the period 2022-2024. The sums will be allocated from the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR). The decision was taken by the National Council of Coordination of Regional Development (CNCDR).   

This year, important financing sources from FNDR are to be turned to account for the implementation, in northern Moldova, of 5 projects on water and sewerage supply, 5 projects on turning to good account of tourist heritage and reviving urban zones and one project on turning to account of the business infrastructure.

„For 2022, CNCDR approved a record budget of 280 million lei for all those 46 projects of the Single Development Programme. The estimated cost of the projects included in DUP is of 1.5 billion lei and will be implemented in the country’s development regions on the period 2022-2024,’’ the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord) said.  

In 2021, ADR Nord registered the greatest turning to account of funds in the North Development Region, for the first time in those 12 years of activity. ADR Nord turned to good account 221.44 million lei in all for the implementation of nine infrastructure projects and 5 software projects in the region. As much as 62.14 million lei out of all investments recorded last year were allocated from FNDR and 159.3 million lei – from European Union sources and other external sources.
