Customs Service revenues amounted to about 633 million lei last week

Chisinau, 21 February / MOLDPRES /- Customs Service revenues to the state budget amounted to almost 633 million lei on February 14-20, up by about 22% compared to the amount planned for this period. Also, since the beginning of the year, the Customs Service has collected 3.5 billion lei from the state budget, with an increase of about 27% compared to the revenues from the corresponding period of 2021.

During the last week, the number of passengers who entered the Republic of Moldova is over 75 thousand people. Of these, 1604 individuals declared various goods, paying payments amounting to 3.2% of the total amount collected for that period.

"The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.," says the Customs Service.

Also, on February 14-20, 2022, 12,644 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport constituted 52,967 crossings. The busiest customs posts remain Leuseni and Sculeni, with 12,530 and 9,574 crossings, respectively.

As regards combating fraud, during the period 175 violations of customs legislation were found and fines amounting to over 301 thousand lei were applied. The most frequent violations refer to the exceeding of the term on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of the means of transport with foreign numbers, declared by action.
