Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell Fontelles.

The press service of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has told MOLDPRES that, during the conversation, the diplomats reconfirmed the firm support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

Also, the two officials discussed the Moldovan authorities’ concern about the security in the region, the situation in Moldova in the context of the flow of refugees from Ukraine, as well as the government’s actions for the efficient management of the current situation.

„I thanked for the full support of EU provided to Moldova, as well as for the firm support of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.
