Moldovan foreign affairs minister has phone conversation with U.S. congressman

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a phone conversation with a member of the United States Congress, co-head of the group for political support for Moldova David Price, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press bureau has reported.    

„We discussed challenges we face on the period of the war in Ukraine, as well as about our attempts to attenuate the humanitarian crisis, with Moldova hosting, at this point too, the highest number of refugees in the region, as compared to the number of residents,’’ Deputy PM Nicu Popescu said.   

The Moldovan diplomacy head reconfirmed to the American congressman the support of Moldova for Ukraine’s territorial integrity. At the same time, the two officials agreed on the need to identify additional ways which are to back the effort to be reliable partners in the region. The sides also referred to concrete measures which are to help refugees, as well as to contribute to the economic recovery, as well as to the advancement of the democratic values.
