Four groups specializing in facilitating illegal migration uncovered by border police

Chisinau, March 25 / MOLDPRES /- Four groups specializing in facilitating illegal migration have been uncovered by border guards in the south of the country. They demanded from 1,500 to 10,000 dollars for every person illegally transported from Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova.

According to the Border Police, the members of the groups were active in the region of Vulcănești, Taraclia and Ceadâr - Lunga. The people targeted in the research are Moldovan citizens. They organized the entry on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, through the illegal crossing of the state border, of several men aged between 20 and 30 years, all of them being legitimate as citizens of Ukraine. From them, Moldovans allegedly demanded and received sums of up to $ 10,000 per person.

The measure of pre-trial detention was applied to four suspects, while four vehicles that were used to transport foreigners were made unavailable.
