Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line declared public utility

Chisinau, May 12 / MOLDPRES /- The construction works of Vulcănești-Chișinău 400 kV overhead power line and Vulcănești Back-to-Back station have been declared works of public utility of national interest. A bill in this regard was adopted today by the Legislature.

The construction works will be carried out within the Project Interconnection of electricity networks between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, Phase I, with a total budget of 260 million euros, for a period of four years.

The government will start the procedure for acquiring the land necessary for the construction of about 158 kilometers of high voltage power line and the construction of the Back-to-Back Vulcănești conversion station.

In accordance with the legislation in force, works that meet the objectives and interests of the entire society are of public utility.
