MP Ilan Shor without parliamentary immunity

Chisinau, May 26 / MOLDPRES /- MPs examined and approved the request made by acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu to approve the lifting of the immunity of MP Ilan Shor, who is suspected and investigated for large-scale money laundering, committed in the interest of an organized criminal group.
65 MPs voted to lift Ilan Shor's immunity. The parliamentary opposition boycotted today's plenary session.
According to the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the deputy may not be detained, arrested or searched, except in cases of flagrante delicto, or sent to trial without the consent of the Parliament.
