Moldovan tax body received over 106 thousand income tax statements for 2021

Chisinau, June 1 / MOLDPRES /- The State Tax Service (SFS) has received 106,604 income tax statements for the fiscal period 2021, submitted by economic operators, which is 4,464 more than in 2020.

During the same period, the Tax Office also received 174,301 income tax returns filed by taxpayers - individuals who do not work as entrepreneurs, with 1,791 fewer returns compared to 2020.

"By economic agents, for the period 2021, there were total revenues amounting to 494.9 billion lei (about 25 billion euros) and total expenditures amounting to 447.7 billion lei. Compared to 2020, revenues increased by 86.2 billion lei, and expenditures increased by 64.7 billion lei. The income tax declared by the economic agents, for the period 2021, constituted 5.5 billion lei, being increased by 1.6 billion lei compared to the period of 2020 ”, indicates SFS.

According to data from the Income Tax Return, the main branches of the national economy that recorded the calculated income tax were: trade, manufacturing, agriculture and forestry, financial and insurance activities, but also the field of construction and real estate transactions.

Regarding the taxpayers individuals - citizens, the amount of income obtained according to the information presented by the income payers, for 2021 amounted to 83.3 billion lei, income obtained by 1.52 million people, and the income tax withheld at the source of payment and declared amounted to 6.08 billion lei.

In the totality of the incomes obtained by the natural persons citizens, the incomes in the form of salary payments predominate (76.05%), followed by the incomes obtained from dividends (11.12%) and the incomes obtained from the transfer in possession and / or use of the real estate and furniture, excluding agricultural land (3.14%).

For the fiscal period 2021, 4,007 people obtained incomes of over one million lei each (compared to 2,962 individuals for the period 2020), the total income obtained by these persons is 12,825.7 million lei, and tax withheld in the amount of 837.9 million lei. (compared to 9,694.9 million lei income, and withholding tax amounting to 611.1 million lei for the period 2020).

The highest amount of income declared by a natural person in 2021 based on the Declaration was 153.6 million lei. The youngest person in this category is 18 years old, the oldest - 88 years old, according to the Tax Service.
