Moldovan electoral body presented preliminary results of runoff elections

Chisinau, June 13 / MOLDPRES /- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today presented the preliminary results of the runoff elections for mayor.
According to the CEC, in the commune of Ghetlova, Orhei district, 918 voters participated in the elections. Of the two candidates, Anastasia Svetlicinii (Shor Party) won the most votes - 468 (50.98%).
At the same time, in Glinjeni village, Falesti district, 1063 votes were registered. The highest number was obtained by Viorel Zarija (Our Party) - 612 (57.57%).
In Zastânca village, Soroca district, 696 votes were registered. The highest number was obtained by Valeriu Covalciuc (Electoral Bloc of Communists and Socialists) - 455 (65.37%).
According to the Electoral Code, the candidate who obtained the highest number of votes is considered elected in the runoff, regardless of the number of citizens who participated in the elections.
