Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - The price for electric energy will stay unchanged in July and August 2022. Deputy Prime Minister, Infrastructure and Regional Development Minister Andrei Spinu today made statements to this effect.

The official unveiled the latest decisions as to the situation of the deliveries of electric energy for the next two months. ‘’A contract was signed with the Kuchurgan Power Plant (MGRES) for two months: July and August at a price of 59.9 dollars/MWh for 70 per cent of the consumption in Moldova. At the same time, for 30 per cent of the consumption, a contract was signed with AtomEnergo (a Ukrainian state company) for July at a price of 77 dollars/MWh. The average weighted cost for July is of 65.03 dollars/MWh,’’ Andrei Spinu wrote on a social network.

After the tender organized by the state company Energocom for the electric energy’s purchasing was cancelled, for last May Energocom negotiated with the Kuchurgan power plant a new contract on the supply of electric energy only for one month. Subsequently, the Commission for Emergency Situations instructed that Energocom buys also for June, July and August electric energy based on direct negotiations. Thus, the providers conclude bilateral contracts with Energocom for supplying the quantities of electric energy necessary and if the tariffs change, additional agreements are signed.
