Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - Actor Ioan-Cristi Vlad, employed at the Eugene Ionesco National Theatre, died drowned in the Dniester river on 26 July. The actor would have turned 25 years today.

The stage manager, director of the Eugene Ionesco Theatre Petru Vutcarau, announced the tragic news on social networks on 26 July.

The young actor debuted on the stage of the Eugene Ionesco National Theatre one year ago after the graduation of the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy (AMTAP). Although he was educated in a family of actors from the Balti-based Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre, Ioan-Cristi Vlad chose to study information technology after finishing the lyceum; yet, he soon understood that he wanted to work at the theatre, so he took his degree at AMTAP in acting.

”The Culture Ministry expresses sincere condolences to the Vlad family, relatives, colleagues, all those who loved the departed actor and in whose hearts this ‘’child with great soul'' continues to live,'' reads a press release by the Culture Ministry.
