Chisinau, 27 July /MOLDPRES/ - The emergency state might be extended in Moldova by another 60 days as of 8 August 2022. The cabinet of ministers approved a decision to this effect at a today’s meeting, at a proposal by the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE). The document is to be submitted to parliament for adoption.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the need of prolonging the emergency state is reasoned by giving CSE possibility to quickly intervene, in order to ensure the country’s energy and food security, given that the war in Ukraine affects, in continuation, the commercial connections, logistic chains, including the ones of food products and supply with oil products.
The emergency state was established in Moldova on 24 February 2022, with the unleashing of the war in Ukraine.
