Moldovan prosecutors make searches at former Interior Ministry officials in file on abuse of power

Chisinau, 29 July /MOLDPRES/ - Anticorruption prosecutors today make searches in a file opened for abuse of power. People who held public offices at the Interior Ministry (MAI) and a former head of the Material Reserves Agency, subordinated to MAI, are regarded in this case.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), the people would have favoured an economic agent at the making available of food wheat from Moldova’s state reserves, which was exported abroad. Following the actions, the former MAI employees would have got a profit of more than 10 million lei (about 500,000 euros).

Prosecutors will come up with details after the carrying out of the searches.
