Chisinau, 4 Aug. /MOLDPRES/- Come to Mine Home campaign was launched today at the Leușeni customs post. The initiative aims to promote the Republic of Moldova as a tourist destination and increase the number of foreign visitors.

According to the Customs Service, summer, especially August, is the period when the diaspora returns home, and the Leușeni crossing point is the most requested and records the highest number of border crossings. Thus, as part of the campaign, customs officials will distribute information leaflets containing details about tourist destinations and picturesque places in the Republic of Moldova.

The action aims to motivate citizens, including those from the diaspora, to visit tourist destinations in our country. At the same time, the campaign promotes hosts in the tourism industry involved in managing the refugee crisis. To facilitate the trip, tourists will receive guides with recommendations of destinations, activities and local experiences.

The campaign is funded by the USAID Project on Economic Development, Governance and Enterprise Growth in Europe and Eurasia. It is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, the Investment Agency, the Border Police, the Customs Service and Chisinau International Airport.
