Chisinau, August 12 /MOLDPRES/- The International Youth Day was marked today by a series of cultural, educational and socializing activities, held in the city of Ștefan Vodă, which this year has the status of National Youth Capital, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Present at the event, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița noted the young people's desire for continuous exploration and change, noting that their active involvement in promoting youth policies will bring numerous benefits in the future.

"We know that young people expect that their voice will be heard, that their problems and concerns will be taken seriously, that their aspirations will be found in the decisions we make at the Government or Parliament level. That's what we do! We have started several programs designed to offer you today, in the Republic of Moldova, opportunities for a more beautiful and prosperous life", said Natalia Gavrilița.

The Prime Minister referred to the initiatives recently launched by the Executive, including the cultural vouchers with which young people will be able to go to a theater show, museum or buy books for free. Also, with the help of the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship and the national Program "Start for Young People: a sustainable business at your home", young people will be able to obtain grants or loans to start a career in business.

At the same time, the head of the Executive emphasized that the authorities will develop the internship law and an internship program for 2023, and currently, together with the Delegation of the European Union, an internship program is being implemented within public institutions. It offers young people the opportunity to see how the administrative and transformation processes of the country unfold, necessary to achieve the goal of integration into the European Union.

"We need you even at the Government of the Republic of Moldova. We need your contribution, the enthusiasm, creativity and innovation that only young people can show. European integration is the project of a generation and it is your project", added the prime minister.

International Youth Day is marked annually, on August 12, through events that bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and promote the potential of young people to be partners in today's global society. One of the elements is the choice, every year, of a new location for the celebration of the event. Thus, during the last years, the celebration was hosted by the village of Varnița, Cahul, the villages of Costești, Sipoteni - localities designated as "youth capitals".
