Customs Service collected 813 million lei last week

Chisinau, August 22 /MOLDPRES/- On August 15-21, the Customs Service collected over 813.2 million lei (about 40.6 million euros) to the state budget, up by 36.8% than the budgetary burden established for this period.
According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments worth more than 18.8 million lei, which represents 2.3% of the total amount collected during this period. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Also, during the past week, 12,978 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport constituted 97,343 crossings. In the chapter on combating fraud, during this period 70 violations of customs legislation were found and fines were imposed in the total amount of over 345 thousand lei.
Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected 20.5 billion lei from the state budget, an increase of 22.2% compared to the same period last year.
