Moldovan MPs approved amendments to social insurance budget law for 2022

Chisinau, August 26 /MOLDPRES/- Parliament, convened in an extraordinary session, approved today in the first reading amendments to the State Social Insurance Budget Law (BASS) for 2022.

The document was presented by Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Marcel Spatari. According to the official, "the state social insurance budget for this year provides for several measures to support the population, including measures to reduce energy vulnerability".

According to the project, the total revenues of the State Social Insurance Budget were increased by 1.155 billion lei and will constitute 34.197 billion lei. At the same time, the total expenses of BASS were also increased by 1.155 billion lei. The discounting of the expenses was carried out based on the analysis of the execution of the indicators in the first semester of the current year, as well as the dynamics of the number of beneficiaries and the average sizes of social benefits.

Thus, the proposed expenses include the additional financial means from the state budget for granting, starting from October 1, 2022, a financial support in the amount of 1500 lei for beneficiaries of all types of state pensions/social allowances, established until of the current October 1 and who are domiciled in the Republic of Moldova, whose monthly amount does not exceed 5000 lei.

The expenses also include the financial means needed to establish, starting from October 1, 2022, the monthly allowance for child care up to the age of 2 in the amount of 1000 lei, for all children regardless of the status of the parent (insured or uninsured).

It is also proposed, starting from October 1st, to increase the monthly support allowance up to 500 lei for raising up to the age of 3 for twins or multiple children born from a single pregnancy.

The project was supported by 54 MPs and is to be voted on in the second reading.
