State budget law for 2022 amended

Chisinau, 8 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- MPs convened in an extraordinary session adopted today in the second reading amendments to the State Budget Law for 2022. The document was voted by 53 MPs.

Following the amendments, the revenues of the state budget for this year increase from 52.701 billion lei to 57.971 billion lei (+10%), and the expenses - from 72.087 billion lei to 75.216 billion lei (+4, 3%). Accordingly, the state budget deficit decreased from 19.386 billion lei to 17.245 billion lei (-11%). This is to be covered from both external and internal sources.

The most significant increases are recorded in the social protection group (+1.758 billion lei) to provide one-off aid to beneficiaries of all types of state pensions/social benefits and increase allowances as aid for the cold season.

Increases are also expected for the state services of general purpose group (by 996.7 million lei), which will be used to manage the energy crisis, the refugee crisis in Ukraine and the inclusion of allowances for granting the one-off payment to support some employees from the budgetary institutions. At the same time, there will be increases for the Road Fund and projects to support small and medium enterprises.

The parliament will convene in the ordinary autumn session on 15 September.
