Chisinau, 15 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- The government approved at 14 September meeting the creation of 19 diplomatic posts within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the MAEIE public diplomacy, strategic communication and media relations service has reported.

In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said the following:

"The status of a candidate for EU accession must also mean a qualitative transformation of our relationship with the European Union, requiring maximum results and efficiency in cooperation with our European partners. Today, both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all agencies and ministries are involved in the process of preparing the Republic of Moldova for EU accession, we are all working at maximum capacity, but we need greater capacity.

One of the main conditions submitted by the European Commission for the Republic of Moldova to continue and even accelerate its accession to the EU is related to the strengthening of our administrative capacities to prepare our country for accession to the EU. Today we are moving rapidly in the direction of reorganizing existing work processes. 35 sectoral working groups are in the process of being created in accordance with the chapters of the EU accession negotiations.

Facilitating the establishment and functioning of the groups requires an increased effort from the MAEIE as the coordinating authority of the European integration process.

To meet these goals, today's project sees supplementing the number of employees at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with 19 people, most positions filling the European Integration department, which currently consists of only 15 officials.

We will also strengthen our team in bilateral cooperation considering the intensification of interaction especially with EU member states, the direction of international law in order to have suitable legal expertise and to advance with increased steps to adjust our legislation on joining the EU and we want to ensure maximum transparency for this process.

In the near future, the Ministry will organize a public competition, and we invite the public to attend to contribute to our country's project - accession to the European Union, and here I want to emphasize that we encourage all those who want to participate, help the country join the EU watch the announcement that will come soon about an open, public, transparent competition, so that we can all join hands to bring the country to the EU together.

The project was approved by the competent authorities in the regulation, including being subjected to legal and anti-corruption expertise in accordance with the provisions of the law", Popescu said.
