Electoral candidates can benefit from interest-free loans for new local elections

Chisinau, 20 Sep. /MOLDPRES/- Electoral candidates can benefit from interest-free loans for the new local elections on 16 October. Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi approved a Regulation on the matter yesterday.

Under the document, interest-free loans are earmarked from the state budget to electoral contestants to support the electoral campaign for the new local elections.

Beneficiaries of the credit can be parties, other socio-political organizations and electoral blocs, as well as independent candidates.

The amount of the interest-free loan for electoral competitors is 25 thousand lei for each political party, socio-political organization or electoral bloc, and five thousand lei for each independent candidate.

On 16 October new local elections will be held in three localities in the country: Sălcuța village (Căușeni district), Ialpujeni (Cimișlia district) and Braniște village (Râșcani district).
