Moldova wins four medals at World Sambo Championship

Chisinau, Oct. 20 /MOLDPRES/- Athletes from the Republic of Moldova won four medals at the World Sambo Championship 2022, cadet, youth, held in Yerevan (Armenia) on 14-17 October 2022.

According to the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC), Andrei Peaticovschi won silver medal in the category up to 79 kg (U16). Egor Niciporuc won the bronze medal in the weight category up to 88 kg (U18), Alina Burghelea won the bronze medal in the 80 kg weight category (U18), and Irina Florea won the bronze medal in the 44 kg (U16).

"The performances of the athletes are due both to the perseverance and talents of the athletes, as well as to the coach of national Sambo team Iulii Peaticovschi and coaches Mihail Fistican, Florea Ovidiu, Neciporuc Serghei", the Ministry of Education said.

Athletes and coaches will benefit from monetary prizes offered by the ministry during the Sports Gala, traditionally organized in late 2022.
