As many as 2,606 Moldovan employees infected with COVID-19 at working places to receive one-off allowance of 16,000 lei

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The medical staff, as well as other employees from the public sector, who were infected with COVID-19 while exercising their job duties till 30 September 2020, will benefit from a one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei. The cabinet approved a decision to this effect today.   

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, 2,606 people will benefit from the one-off allowance, of whom 2,593 – medical staff. As much as 41.7 million lei will be earmarked from the government’s intervention fund to this end.   

As much as 17.7 million lei of this sum will be allocated to the Health Ministry for 1,107 people; 4.5 million lei – to the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) for 282 people; 1.6 million lei – to the Cahul district council for 97 people; 1.2 million lei – to the Edinet district council for 73 people and the rest will be distributed to other central and local public authorities.   

So far, 17,772 employees have benefited from the one-off allowance worth 16,000 lei.
