Moldovan foreign affairs ministry to back organization of travelling exhibitions for promotion of traditional costume

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has discussed with representatives of the association, Șezătoarea Basarabiei (Evening Sitting of Bessarabia) Cristina Dan, Diana Roșca și Andreea-Natalia Rusnac, who donated 50 books about traditional costumes sewed at the Evening Sitting of Bessarabia to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE). The volumes will be subsequently distributed within Moldova’s diplomatic missions and consular offices from abroad. The project is carried out with the financial support of Moldova-Agroindbank (MAIB), the MAEIE press service has reported.
„We spoke about future projects, including the organization of travelling exhibitions for the promotion of the traditional costume, as well as of its elements, including following a recent success on the dimension of the cultural diplomacy after the decision by UNESCO, which included, The Art of the national shirt - cultural identity element in Romania and Moldova, in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity,’’ Foreign Affairs Minister Nicu Popescu said.
MAEIE organized exhibitions for the promotion of the traditional costume at the ministry’s headquarters, as well as travelling exhibitions in Geneva, Riga and Vilnius, in cooperation with the members of the Evening Sitting of Bessarabia community.
