Christmas Fair due in Moldova this year to be focused on respect for forerunners' tradition, cultural mobility

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Christmas Fair titled, The Village of Carol Singers, organized by the cabinet this year, will be opened on the square of the Nicolae Sulac National Palace on 23 December at 17:00.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the fair will have 20 wood houses, were native artisans and producers will display for sale artisan’s works, popular instruments, national costumes, art objects made of wood and clay. Also, Moldovan capital’s guests will be able to participate in a string of workshops, were artisans will share their secrets as to the manufacturing of artisan’s objects and to taste traditional dishes, mulled wine and other delicious dishes made by the most skillful cooks.
Small children visiting the Christmas Fair will enjoy an entertaining atmosphere with animators and in Santa Claus’ house, they will be able to speak to the latter, tell poems and make pictures.
The artistic programme will be held only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the participation of folk music orchestras and singers, folk bands and brass bands. The concept of Christmas Fair due this year will be focused on the mobility of culture; thus, professional artists from Chisinau will perform on stages from Moldova’s settlements and the stage of the Fair from the capital will be animated by artists amateurs from the country’s districts. Several concerts of the schedule of the National Palace will be broadcast live on LED screen set on the square.
The schedule of the artistic events dedicated to the Christmas holiday will end on 7 January, with the closing of the Christmas Fair. The Fair will be daily opened during 15:00-21:00.
