She met with residents of Baraboi, Târnova and Țaul, and talked about pensions, jobs, education, living conditions in the localities, justice reform, as well as other important issues for the people from the whole country, the presidential press service has reported.

The government has started changes in several areas, and some of them need to be accelerated, especially those related to the development of the economy. The head of state noted we need peace and a strong economy to solve the problems of the localities and the country.

In Țaul, the head of state visited the Center of Excellence in Horticulture and Agricultural Technologies, which trains specialists in vegetable and fruit growing, the safety of agri-food products and the technology of plant-based products. The institution was recently modernized with the support of the Austrian Development Agency and the LED Moldova Foundation, and currently has about 300 students. Also, under the European Village program, seven localities from the Dondușeni district are carrying out projects worth about 50 million lei.

"Joining the EU is our country's project, which will also encourage the development of Moldovan communities. I was happy to meet in Dondușeni several representatives who understand this and support the European integration process. I also appreciated the openness of the Târnova town hall to offer 41 hectares of land for the national afforestation program, the implementation of which will begin this year. I encourage all the town halls in the country to participate in this important program for all of us", said Maia Sandu.
