Moldovan deputy PM discuss with high-ranking Georgian officials in Tbilisi

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, during his working visit to Tbilisi, today had meetings with Georgia Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Deputy Parliament Speaker Giorgi Volsky, Foreign Affairs Minister Ilia Darchiashvili, Deputy PM, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.  

In discussions, Deputy PM for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian tackled topical subjects on the bilateral agenda of Moldovan-Georgian cooperation, programme of reforms initiated by Moldova in the European integration process, as well as the efforts made in the proper management of the challenges faced by the two partner states, especially proceeding from the impact of the non-settled territorial conflicts on these processes, as well as other aspects of common interest.     

A subject to which the sides paid special attention was focused on the negative effects of Russia’s non-provoked aggression against Ukraine and the security of the Black Sea region.   

The Moldovan-Georgian bilateral exchanges and the need to increase the concerned figures in the sector represented a distinct subject of the working agenda. The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the next measures of interaction, including the next mutual visits to Chisinau and Tbilisi.   

The sides expressed full openness for the boosting of the bilateral dialogue between Moldova and Georgia for advancement on subjects of common interest, taking over of good practices and experience, as well as for identifying ways of common support.   

The official noted that Moldova and Georgia would mutually support in their efforts of reintegration, as well as of integration into the European family.

The working visit to Tbilisi by Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian takes place at an invitation by Georgia’s State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani. The Moldovan delegation is made up of the state secretary of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Ruslan Bolbocean and the deputy head of the Reintegration Policies Bureau, Eugen Cara.
