Customs Service collected over 627 million lei last week

Chisinau, Feb. 6 /MOLDPRES/- On 30 January - 5 February the Customs Service collected over 627.04 million lei (about 31.3 million euros) to the state budget.

According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to over 86.4 million lei were collected, which represents 13.8% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

Also, during the past week, 11,114 customs declarations were filled out and the flow of means of transport was 65,035 crossings.

In terms of the fight against fraud, 81 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 393 thousand lei were applied. At the same time, on 1-31 January customs officials found 269 violations of customs legislation and imposed fines of 1,513,273 lei.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 3.1 billion lei to the state budget, up by 32.4% compared to the same period last year.
