Moldovan increases by 20 per cent sum for pupils' daily dinner

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - The financial norm for the free of charge providing of dinners to pupils from the secondary vocational education institutions will increase by 20 per cent – from 14.40 lei to 17.30 lei per day. A decision to this end was approved at a cabinet meeting today, at a proposal by the Education Ministry. In this respect, the law on the state budget for 2023 includes additional allocations worth 6.1 million lei, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The pupils from the secondary vocational institutions are provided with dinner for free on the period of education, except for the periods of winter and summer vacations, practical training, as well as the days-off and holidays.

In the 2022-2023 academic year, about 14,400 pupils study in secondary vocational schools.
