Moldovan government allocates 1.4 million lei for recovery of expenses dealing with rescuers' trip to Turkey

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved the earmarking of financial means needed for the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), in order to cover the expenses for the trip of rescuers to Turkey. A sum of 1.4 million lei will be provided from the cabinet’s reserve fund, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The international mission of Moldovan rescuers in Turkey started on 6 February 2023. The disaster intervention team, made up of 56 people, endowed with 12 fully autonomous special vehicles, as well as two search dogs, got involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the devastating earthquakes.
The offer of assistance was submitted to Turkey through the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism.
