On this occasion, the official offered thanks for the solid support provided by the European Union for developing the mechanisms of joint control at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border.

„Moldova and Ukraine firmly stated that we are modern European states, share the European principles and values and that our future is in the European Union. This also means confidence between the border guard and customs authorities, including trust between our states. We must work together for the benefit of our nations and for the common future in the European Union,’’ the head of the Moldovan Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi said.

The launch of the joint control at PTF Basarabeasca – Serpniovo-1 has the goal to strengthen the cooperation at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border, which will contribute to the diversification of the ways of carriage of goods with Ukraine, ensuring Moldova’s access to the main regional routes of transporting fuels of various kinds, as well as of the export of cereals from Ukraine. The significant contribution to the development of the bilateral dialogue in terms of security of the common border, public order, economic well-being of both states and fight against the organized cross-border criminality is important as well.
