Customs Service collected over 675 million lei last week

Chisinau, March 27 /MOLDPRES/- On March 20-26, the Customs Service collected over 675.3 million lei (about 33.7 million euros) to the state budget.

According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments worth more than 20.9 million lei, which represents 3.1% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

At the same time, the past week, 11,548 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 67,933 crossings.

In terms of the fight against fraud, 60 violations of customs legislation were found and fines in of over 230 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of the year, the Customs Service has collected about 7.8 billion lei to the state budget, up by 18.5% compared to the same period last year.
