Customs Service collected over 603 million lei last week

Chisinau, May 2. /MOLDPRES/- Customs Service collected over 603.3 million lei (about 30.1 million euros) to the state budget on 25-30 April.

According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, being collected payments worth more than 14.4 million lei, which represents 2.4% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects etc.

Also, during the past week, 11,035 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 62,692 crossings.

In the fight against fraud, 29 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 106 thousand lei were applied. At the same time, on April 1 - 30, 272 violations of customs legislation were established and fines of over one million lei were imposed.

Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 10.9 billion lei to the state budget, up by 11.6% compared to the same period last year.
