Moldovan government improves regulation on location of fuel stations

Chisinau, May 3 /MOLDPRES/- The design, location and construction of fuel stations will be prohibited near green spaces and water areas. Government approved today following the initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development a Regulation aimed to improve the requirements for the location of fuel stations with main petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas and compressed natural gas, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

Following the application of the Regulation, the environment and the health of the population will be protected, as the design, location and construction of fuel stations in the protection zones of water bodies, sources of drinking water, spas and sanatorium, urban green areas, on the territory of nature reserves and in their protection zones, in the protection zones of historical and cultural monuments, in the sanitary protection zones of social institutions will be prohibited.

The construction, reconstruction, technical re-use of fuel stations is carried out according to urban planning and land development documentation, normative acts and normative technical documents in construction, as well as normative regulations in the industrial security and fire protection.
