Sweden to host Eurovision Song Contest 2024

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ - The representative of Sweden, singer Loreen, won the trophy of the Great Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, held in Liverpool, United Kingdom, on 13 May evening. Loreen was the favourite of the jury, which gave her 340 points. She was appreciated by the public too – with 243 points.
Thus, Sweden will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Sweden picked up 583 points in all. It was followed by Finland with 526 points, Israel – 362, Italy – 350, Norway - 268, Ukraine – 243 points.
Moldova’s representative Pasha Parfeni ranked 18th. He got 96 points, of which 20 on behalf of the jury; San Marino gave 3 points, Romania – 7 points and the public gave 76 points. Pasha Parfeni sang on stage with No 18. Germany was on the last position with 18 points.
Moldova has been participating in this contest since 2005, when it ranked sixth, following the performance of the Zdob și Zdub band, with the song, Grandma Play the Drum. Moldova had the best result at Eurovision with the song, Hey Mamma, when the SunStroke Project band occupied the position No 3, in 2017.
